Members meeting

Meeting was held at Innovation Norway in Oslo.

30 representatives from business and diplomatic institutions in Norway attended the meeting. Among them there were Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Norway, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Telecommunication and Fishing industry, IT, Innovations, University of Nordland, etc.

Christen Mordal, the Board Member of the NUCC, opened the meeting by briefly presenting the results of the meeting between the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs of Norway, that was conducted in Kiev 9th of April 2013.

Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs of Norway Lisbeth Berg-Hansen noted Norwegian exporters are interested in the Ukrainian market. According to her, herring and salmon have dominated in supplies to Ukraine in recent years.

Both parties have agreed to strengthen controls over the quality of fish imported to Ukraine from Norway. The parties agreed to create a joint group for veterinary controls over these products and exchange visits of experts.

Johan Bjørkevoll, Investment Manager at Innovation Norway, presented information on investments by Innovation Norway in Eastern Europe, non-the less in Ukraine.

Henrik Seip, Managing Director at Eastern Europe Group, made an update on Ukrainian Business climate, presented figures on Investment attractiveness index in Ukraine and expectations and progress that was made by Ukraine in 2012.

Vadym Shestakov, Senior Associate at Danevych Law Firm in Kyiv, presented the changes in Tax code of Ukraine, in particular temporary special taxation regime for subjects of IT industry. He outlined criteria for subjects of IT industry, made practical examples on pros and cons of these changes.

Meeting was finished by Sigmund Ekhougen, Managing Director at NUCC. He announced a progress in the financial support to NUCC from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a draft plan for activities that is going to be launched as soon as official letter from the Ministry will be received.

After the meeting participants had a possibility to mingle in not official atmosphere while enjoying the meal and refreshments provided by support from Innovation of Norway.
