Young Entrepreneurs 2018

This year the program took place in Bergen, Oslo, Kyiv and Lviv. We brought together 20 ambitious and talented business-minded people from Norway and Ukraine work with actual business cases. The participants have got first-hand and professional guidance on creating and doing business in and between Norway and Ukraine.

During the first part of the program in Bergen we learned about cultural differences in Norwegian and Ukrainian work environments from Ellis Culture, visited Norwegian School of Economics and Equinor/Statoil, discussed how to start own business at Nyskapingsparken, met with one of the biggest seafood exporters to Ukraine – Pelagia – to find out more about their business in Ukraine.

In Oslo the participants visited many consulting companies, like TRK Group, KPMG, Innovation Norway and discussed free trade agreement and the Bilateral Free Trade Agreement on agricultural products between Norway and Ukraine with the representative of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. At Wikborg Reign the company representatives talked about new ICAC and OCC arbitration rules in a business perspective. We got also presented information about outsourcing IT services from Ukraine at the meeting with EVRY.

At the meeting with the president of the Norwegian Parliament Tone Wilhelmsen Trøen the participants discussed political processes between Ukraine and Norway. A special meeting was held at the Embassy of Ukraine to Norway, where our YE team got to meet with representatives of the Ukrainian Parlament. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Norway Viacheslav Yatsiuk emphasized positive trends in the Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation and encouraged to keep up a good work for further increasing of trade between our countries.

The second part of YE2018 was full of lectures, meetings, networking and great speakers in Kyiv and Lviv, Ukraine. During our meetings with prominent Ukrainian businessmen, activists and lecturers such as Mychailo Wynnyckyj, Yevhen Hlibovytsky,  Ilia Kenigshtein, Oleg Prokhorenko, Yana Kozachenko, Olesya Zalus’ka, Olga Syvak, Roman Zinchenko and Yaroslav Ryshchichyn we were talking about reforms, export strategies, how to improve investment climate in Ukraine and how to develop presentation own skills. At the meeting with Serhii Leshchenko NUCC discussed political processes of fighting corruption in Ukraine. The Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine Ole T. Horpestadt presented current and future plans for bilateral cooperation at the reception at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ukraine.

We would also like to thank our partners from Lviv Business School (LvBS)Kyiv-Mohyla Business School [kmbs]Nord University and The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs again without whom this program would not have been such a great accomplishment.
