ICT is important for the trade between Norway and Ukraine. Numerous Norwegian companies have already discovered opportunities in the Ukrainian IT sector. The main reasons are access to talents and the favorable price/quality ratio. Despite the war, Ukrainian IT companies continue to do their job and drive the country’s economy. In 2022, IT exports accounted for 4.6% of Ukraine's GDP, with the IT industry representing approximately 40% of its total service exports.

According to recent research, Ukraine has a strong position in the global IT landscape in the following areas: Industrial tech, defense tech, HealthTech, EdTech, MarTech & Media, FinTech, AI, Software & Hi-Tech, eCommerce, GovTech, CyberTech & Cybersecurity.

The Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce encourages Norwegian businesses to collaborate with Ukrainian IT companies. Such partnerships not only support the Ukrainian economy by creating jobs but also contribute to Norway's ongoing digital transformation. As Norwegian companies and state institutions continue to seek IT expertise, cooperation with Ukrainian IT firms remains instrumental in furthering the digitalization of the Norwegian economy.
