Norway deepens its commitment to ReBuilding Ukraine
This week flew by in a whirlwind of meaningful meetings, impactful events, and dynamic activities at the Norwegian Pavilion during the ReBuild Ukraine conference and exhibition in Warsaw on November 13-14.
The Norwegian delegation was larger than ever, with over 100 participants representing more than 30 companies, NGOs, clusters, as well as the official delegation. The delegation has tripled in size since last year, reflecting Norway's growing interest in Ukraine’s rebuilding initiatives. This commitment was underscored by the presence of Norway’s Energy Minister, Terje Aasland, and Deputy Minister from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, Vegard Grøslie Wennesland. Their participation highlighted the importance of Norwegian support for Ukraine’s restoration efforts.
Construction sector, but also energy and technology solutions were at the forefront of discussions, with Ukrainian companies looking to Norway for expertise. During the conference, Norway’s Minister of Energy, Terje Aasland, and Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Andarak, officially kicked off a Working Group on Energy. This initiative aims to address critical issues and stimulate investments in Ukraine’s energy sector, supporting the country’s green transition.
Strong impressions were made during discussions with Ukrainian local communities, already hard at work restoring infrastructure and critical services. Norway has identified the Ukrainian energy sector as a priority for restoration, aligning with its expertise in renewable energy, technology, and infrastructure.
The success of this week would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of Team Norway. We are thankful to Innovation Norway for leading the organisation of the Norwegian Pavilion and mobilised businesses, NHO for representing business interests, and the Norwegian embassies in Kyiv and Warsaw for ensuring seamless coordination of the official delegation and networking. A special thanks to the ReBuild Ukraine organisers for their invaluable support.
Looking ahead, we are eager to bring this growing Norwegian interest directly to Ukraine by facilitating meetings between Norwegian and Ukrainian companies. Together, with resources, technology, and collaboration, we can achieve great results.
Slava Ukraini!
