Seminar: Ukraine's energy transition in a new political landscape
This year has been very remarkable in Ukrainian politics. The country got a new president, parliament and Cabinet of Ministers. There was a significant change in the political elite in Ukraine. How will this influence Ukraine’s internal and external politics? What needs to be done to secure Ukraine’s energy independence? This and much more was discussed yesterday at the seminar organized by the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) in cooperation with NUCC.
Our Project Manager Anatolii Kyryliuk presented the current political situation in Ukraine as well as the plans of the new government for the next five years. Petter Nore, Professor from Nord University, talked about Ukraine’s energy sector in an international context and discussed some possible scenarios in the energy field both in Ukraine and internationally. Ijaz Anwar, Project Development Manager from the Norwegian company Scatec Solar, presented their projects in Ukraine, current progress and elaborated on what can be done to improve the investment climate and increase attractiveness for international business in Ukraine. The seminar ended with a lively discussion and questions from the audience.
