Ukraine is looking to Build Back Better: Recap
On the 25th of October, together with our partners, we held a business seminar “Ukraine is looking to Build Back Better”. At the event our distinguished speakers discussed ways Norway and the private sector can invest effectively in the rebuilding of Ukraine.
Now, Ukraine especially needs business development, investment and recovery. Head of the Ukrainian State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development Mustafa Nayyem emphasized three primary focal points for the reconstruction of Ukraine: 1) safeguarding critical infrastructure, facilities, and logistical systems necessary for frontline operations. 2) ensuring the security and stability of power grids to guarantee a consistent electricity supply. 3) undertaking extensive renovations of social infrastructure to provide citizens with secure and pleasant living environments.
The event was focused on exploring available financial instruments for the Ukrainian and Norwegian markets. EBRD’s First Vice President Jurgen Rigterink and Deputy Head of Ukraine Sustainable Infrastructure, Mark Magaletsky, discussed the ongoing EBRD initiatives in Ukraine and encouraged Norwegian companies to take innovative approaches in fields like renewable energy and cutting-edge technology.
We would like to thank the EBRD representatives and business representatives for sharing their experience in the reconstruction of Ukraine. We are particularly grateful to Hallvard Ingebrigtsen, Christian Syse, Mats Tristan Tjemsland, Gustav Heiberg, Alina Sviderska for their participation in our event.
And, of course, special thanks to our partners Norad, Tekna, NHO and FTU for their help in organising the event!
