Looking back: Ukrainian IT Industry during the war

The 24th of May marked three months since the invasion of Ukraine which has consequently led to devastating effects on the Ukrainian economy. Despite this horrific event, Ukraine - one of Europe's largest tech talent pools -  is working hard on attracting foreign investors and continuously carrying out their operations (mostly digitally) and (remote) service deliveries in order to help reduce the financial impact of the war. This has led Ukraine showing a continuous growth rate by an average of 27% annually. The IT industry has demonstrated great resilience and adaptability in the extreme conditions of war thanks to the business contingency plans developed long before the war broke out. It has operated in a great variety of industries with clients both from the private and public sectors which is why it is important to have a meeting to assess how it is going with the industry and what the said industry needs are.

We at NUCC organised jointly with Union a webinar about the Ukrainian IT Industry During the War where IT Export Alliance members could share their insights and experiences on how they are running their businesses during wartime, how crucial international support is, and how ongoing contracting and launching new projects with Ukrainian developers is bolstering the Ukrainian economy. Throughout the webinar discussions on the IT sector and its business activity was highlighted showcasing that despite the war Ukraine still remains a global tech powerhouse due to its strong scientific and technical foundation.

We are extremely grateful to our speakers who participated in the event.
